Elixirs and Fetishes
To clear up any excitement of the naughty variety fetishes are not what you are hoping they are. Fetishes are inanimate objects with supposed magic properties because it is considered to be inhabited by a spirit. Other definitions of the word are more bawdy. Shamen and Medicine Women have in-depth knowledge of spirits, nature and rural alchemy allowing them to make elixir and fetishes that protect and empower their users. Elixirs are created through the Craft Alchemy Skill and Fetishes are created through the Craft Fetishes Feat.
Health Elixir: This fowl smelling and even worse tasting tonic boosts the immune system of the imbiber. This elixir grants a +4 bonus to fortitude saves against disease for 24 hours. Price: 30gp.
Blood Boiler: This sweet tasting green coloured elixir makes the imbiber feel all warm and toasty- inside and out. This elixir grants immunity to cold weather damage and fatigue for 8 hours. Price: 35gp.
Owl Vision: This bitter concoction glows a faint orange when stirred up (which is required to activate it) causes the imbiber’s eyes to shimmer. This elixir grants darkvision ability for 2 hours and then nausea for 4 hours. Price: 25gp.
Elemental Shield Fetish: These trinkets of metal, twine and wood hang from the neck by a leather stand. The element in question is always represented on the fetish itself as a lighting bolt, flame, etc or as a dagish rune on the metal piece of the fetish. Activation requires one word spoken softly to the fetish itself (usually a dagish word for that element’s spirit). Once the fetish is activated it will absorb a number of points of damage of the elemental type the fetish is aligned to.
- Lesser Elemental Shield Fetish: Adsorbs 20 points of elemental damage. Price: 100gp.
- Elemental Shield Fetish: Adsorbs 40 points of elemental damage. Price: 200gp.
- Greater Elemental Shield Fetish: Adsorbs 60 points of elemental damage. Price: 300gp.
Luck Fetish: These fetishes are more often then not a bracelet worn the primary hand of the wearer. Luck Fetishes grant a user a re-roll on any one roll either once a week or once a day. Activation requires one word spoken softly to the fetish itself (usually dagish word for the spirit). The fetish only works for 3 months once activated or until the user fails a re-roll granted by the fetish.
- Lesser Luck Fetish: Re-roll once a week. Price: 250gp.
- Luck Fetish: Re-roll once a day. Price: 500gp.
Anti-disease Fetish: These fetishes are often brooches in abstract shapes. They protect the user from any disease that they are stricken with. This fetish is a single use and stops working once they user is protected. Activation requires one word spoken softly to the fetish itself (usually a dagish word for that spirit). Price: 75gp.
